¡Hola! I’m Ruth — a chemical engineer turned Spanish teacher, a wife, a mom and a watercolor artist.

I was born in Mexico, and my husband is from the United States. We met in Guatemala… in a salsa class! Since then we’ve traveled together through Latin America, Europe, the United States and Canada, and today we explore the world with our one-year-old daughter, our littlest traveler (whenever she lets us!).

When we started traveling, I began teaching Spanish online, and I still do through my other little business, Hola Private Spanish Tutor. But painting has always been my happy place. What began as a hobby, painting the places we visit, the flowers I love and, yes, the desserts I can’t resist, has become a dream come true: my own little watercolor shop.

Every card, bookmark and painting is made by hand, with lots of love and a little bit of color from everywhere we’ve been. Thank you for being here and for supporting a small, family-run business. ♡
